Book a pre-launch review, or ask first

The form asks for three things: the address the pages can be opened at, how many pages and forms are on the list, and the date you mean to go live. Everything after that is confirmed in writing before any money is involved, and the fuller list of what has to be settled before a review can start is on the page about the review.

Step one of six

Build your brief

Fill this in and the brief is written out in full, with a reference to quote and the package your counts fall into.

The address the pages can be opened at. A staging or preview address is fine, and so is a site behind a holding page as long as you say how to get past it.
One address a visitor can arrive at counts as one page.
Enquiry forms, sign-ups, booking forms. Leave empty if there are none.
The date you mean to go live. It decides whether the turnaround fits.
Leave it on "not sure yet" and the counts above will point at one.
Pages you are worried about, a form that has never been tested, a browser your visitors use.

The brief is assembled in your own browser, so this button waits until the page can do it. Without JavaScript it stays inactive rather than reloading the page and losing what you typed.

Enquiries are answered within 2 working days, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays in England. An enquiry is not an order and puts you under no obligation.

There is no telephone number on this site. Email and post keep a written record of what was agreed, which suits a service whose whole output is a written list.

Before you write

Questions, answered

Do you fix what you find?
No, and that is the single most important line on this site. The fee buys the review and the report. Repairs are made by whoever built the site, or quoted separately as a different piece of work. What no package includes
Will you find everything that is wrong?
No, and nobody can honestly promise it. A review is one person opening agreed pages at one moment, in the browsers your package covers. It is a careful second pair of eyes before you go live, not a guarantee that the site is faultless.
What counts as a page?
One address that a visitor can arrive at. A blog with forty articles behind one index is forty pages, not one. Counting them before the price is agreed is the point of the first step.
Do you need a login to my site?
No. Nothing is changed, so no admin access is asked for and none is needed. The pages only have to be reachable. If the site sits behind a password or a holding page, a preview link or a temporary viewer-level account is enough, and it must never travel in the body of an ordinary email: use a one-time secret link, a password manager’s share function, or send the username and the password by two different routes. How access is handed over, and how long it is kept
Can I pay on this website?
Not at present. The request form produces a written brief rather than an order. Once the pages are counted and the price is confirmed in writing, payment is arranged and the method is named to you at that point.Currency and payment, in full
My site is bigger than the largest package. What then?
You are told so in writing before anything is agreed. A site past the limits of the Extended Launch Review is quoted separately or split into more than one review, whichever suits it better.
Can you review a staging address rather than the live one?
Yes. The address you give is the address that is reviewed, and it is named in the report. If the site moves to a different address before launch, that is a different set of pages to open and it is agreed again.
What arrives at the end?
One file holding two things: the pre-launch checklist with a status on every line, and the findings, ranked, each with the page it is on and what is wrong. The report, shown in full
